"At birth, we experience nature, spirit, cosmos, and creation with all our being. Experiences that as modern human beings, many of us have lost." -Patrisia Gonzales "Red Medicine"

I have always been fascinated with the process of birth and thought there could be no experience more beautiful than watching a new life come into this world. I was right.

My decision to become a doula came from my commitment to support women through all stages of life and understanding that birth is one of the most magical and sacred experiences life can offer us.

My training and experience have taught me that a woman needs to feel as emotionally relaxed as possible to allow her body to surrender to the process of bringing their baby earthside. I believe that birth is a ceremony and that during labor, the mother's spirit goes to bring the baby from the spirit world in which they are in, waiting to come down.

I will be by your side every step of they way from supporting you with your birth plan, helping you release your fears, being with you in your hardest moments of labor, washing your dishes and making tea so that you and your partner can focus on your labor , your baby, and your new life. I will be checking in to see how you are doing, healing, and nursing.

I trained with The International Center for Traditional Midwives, a non-profit organization whose goals are to increase the number of women of color who are doulas or midwives so that we can end oppressive policies and practices with birth.

As a doula I see my task as partnering with the mother to support her physically, emotionally, and spiritually by offering a calm, encouraging presence. I became a doula after I became a therapist because I knew I could extend my training and understanding of emotions and trauma to women as a full spectrum doula through their prenatal, postpartum, infertility, and birth loss needs.

Statistics reflect women who have a doula at their birth are:

  • more likely to give birth spontaneously

  • less like to have a c-section

  • less likely to use pain medication

  • more likely to be satisfied

  • more likely to have a shorter labor

Thank you for considering me during one of the most important times of your life. My main goal is to reflect back to you your beauty, strength, and ability to do what your body knows exactly how to do.

Included in my work as a doula I offer:
