About Me:        Michelle Gutierrez

Hello, Thank you for visiting. I'm sincerely glad you're here.

i am first-generation Colombian and am a licensed marriage family therapist in the state of california.

I am bilingual and bicultural with an extensive history working with diverse, multicultural populations in a social justice decolonial framework.

i have a deep love and great pride for my heritage and have had the honor to learn first hand about traditional Indigenous healing practices that are not based in western psychology. i bring this focus to my clients by offering culturally inclusive counseling.

I value knowing your spiritual and cultural beliefs and honoring them to support your healing process.

I believe we are all here to heal something and there are many avenues to healing.

I use a variety of approaches, including EMDR, Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems (IFS), CBT, Psychedelic Harm Reduction and Integration, Ketamine Assisted Therapy (KAP), and talk therapy.

Studies show that the most effective therapeutic techniques are in order of efficacy to decrease levels of symptoms of depression and anxiety:

EMDR, KAP, Brainspotting, IFS, and CBT.

I offer all five.

I offer a therapeutic modality called

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) in partnership

with an organization called Journey Clinical.

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a holistic modality in which ketamine is used as a complement to psychotherapy to help eligible patients experience more frequent breakthroughs and Research shows the benefits of ways these medicines can help decrease symptoms of trauma, depression, anxiety, and substance abuse in short courses of treatment by as much as 80%.

whether we use EMDR, Brainspotting, IFS, CBT, or KAP, I can support you to identify goals, provide psychoeducation, and lastly integrate your experiences by offering a safe space to process the insights learned and experience the relief of lasting changes.

if you would like to talk more with me about your therapy goals, please do not hesitate to ask me any questions.

I try to be a very positive thinking and hopeful person and am very passionate about supporting others to heal individual trauma and trauma caused by current and historical systems of oppression.

I'm happy to support you with any information that will help you feel more ready to begin or continue your path with healing.
